My Snow Boarding Business

I have my personal snow boarding business and I’ve had this for around one year now. I used to be a management consultant before I made up my mind to make the leap and went for a business of my own. Before I done this I was terribly twitchy and actually had no clue about the level of results that I was going to achieve. The fact of the situation is that around 20% of firms fail in their first year, and I did not desire to be one of those business owners that were left having no results, and a heap of debt to handle.

Luckily enough my business has been successful so far, and this has mostly been down to operating in an area of high demand, where i am the only provider in my area. You see, there are two local ski slopes and both have a lot of visitors every week, so I was aware that their was a demand in my local area for snow boarding equipment and skiing apparatus. Initially, I started selling snow boarding equipment but I realized that I should start selling skiing kit as well and this is a decision that I am glad to have made. Since I have started selling skiing kit my sales have risen by 60%.

I now have 4 members of staff that I pay a good wage, and that are really loyal to my company. You see, the cool thing is that every one of them have an interest in snow boarding and skiing and this actually comes thru in the way they may be able to help my buyers make informed purchases.

I’m in possession of a deal with the local ski slopes that when a person is a member of their slope they get a 10% discount on every purchase. This is something that I considered for a selection number| range} of reasons. The first thing is that I had no desire either of them beginning their own shop on their premise, and I felt that thru offering them something free they would be less likely to try to eat into my profits. I also felt that thru doing this they’d feel that the capability to enter into my market was less lucrative. I also have deals with them where I give them extraordinarily inexpensive rates on their stocks, and in actual fact I make 0 profit from the sales that I make to them. This gives them the impression that I have significantly better profit markups than they could achieve, and puts them off competing.

Online I’m contesting with a lot of other websites that sell similar stuff to myself, but I’m trying to increase my websites position in the search engines, and by doing so i am hoping that I’ll be in a position to decrease my operating costs and increase my market reach. Already I am showing up at number fourteen in google for snowboarding kit and i am hoping to be on the first page for certain terms at some point this year. The thing is that when you have a high position in the search engines you can be bound to close a certain number of sales with no marketing outlay. There is also the issue that once you close a single sale with a consumer they are more likely to return in future when they require further products that you sell within your range. I’ve also started to sell wholesale thru a separate website and this has helped me in two ways. I’m beginning to increase my sales volume however at the same time I’m decreasing my cost per unit to purchase through buying on a bigger scale. This is something that is offering my business growth potential, however my first target is to extend sales through my website at the moment.

My Snowboarding Hotel

I mostly loved snowboarding for so long as I can remember. I love the way that snow boarding is a sport that is crammed with excitement and personality. I also adored the way that snow boarding was thought of as a kind of extreme sport. It made me feel about proud of myself that I was associated with this standing. When I firstly hit the runs and attempted snowboarding it was basically a very new sport at the time, and had not even nearly been in the Olympics.

However, as the trend increased the slopes started to modify its ratio of skiing to snowboarding. That is why I needed to start a business that could benefit from this ; I made a decision on starting a hotel in France that was actually targeting the snowboarders instead of the skiers. You see, the snow boarder and the skier are two completely different kind of vacation maker. A snow boarder is more likely to be interested in having a great time, and socialising with younger people, whilst a skier might be away as part of a family vacation.

however [*COMMA] I realised that my business was going to be a dodgy venture because at the same time as I started it, I was scared that snowboarding may not take off in the way that it has. I mean – do you know that know 22% of winter sports competitors are snowboarders? That is an extraordinary statistic and one that truly indicates the kind of thing that I’m talking about. Snow boarding is a massive sport, and I do not think there has been any other sport in the history of the Earth that has seen such achievement in such a short period of time.

I should say the success of my hotel has been enormous, because I’ve been warm and comforting to the snowboarders, showing knowledge on the slopes and snowboarding generally. I’m ready to tell them what I might do, and give them some hot tips that have been passed on to me from hundreds and hundreds of snow boarders through my hotel.

One of the things that I adore the most is the way that most are always having a good time, and that can impact on my mood. When everyone in the hotel is enjoying themselves and having an excellent time, it is easier for me to chill out and have an excellent time as well . It actually is that straightforward.

I’m always asked by the snowboarders if i go on the slopes myself, and I always have to say no, virtually appearing like I could be a kind of half-interested snowboarder. I sort of feel my head dropping as I say it. However, the reason for this is that today, I truthfully pretty rarely have any free time, and it is the miserable part of having my very own business. Setting up a Snowboarding business

For some time I’ve been considering beginning a snow boarding business and actually do think it is something which will have plenty of potential. In my area there are 2 slopes near by and there is no local businesses that service us snow boarder’s needs. What I want to do is start a snow boarding business that sells snow boarding clothing and snow boarding equipment and of course boards themselves. For years I’ve been thinking of a business idea and I actually feel that incorporating my love for snow boarding with my love for business would be a great idea. I done a degree in business however since achieving this degree I have not begun to essentially go out there and give it a try in actuality on my own. I am currently a business specialist for an accountancy firm, and although I enjoy my job my true desire is to go out and do it on my own, and for myself.

What I’ll need to do is get a business loan initially from the bank and buy a property and stock. I was thinking that one of the finest paths to make sure that I get business is to seat the shop as close to the slopes as I will most likely get. I was also thinking that I could reach agreements with the slopes under which they could effectively drive customers to my shop.
